Our Mission
Making Digital Careers available to all
We believe it should be What You Know (WYK), not who you know, that determines your ability to access opportunity and build a fulfilling career in the modern economy.
Founded in 2020, WYK is a not-for-profit organisation (Company Limited by Guarantee) with an asset lock, ensuring our unwavering commitment to our social mission. What started as an idea to democratise access to digital careers has grown into a thriving community of learners, mentors, and industry pioneers.
We prepare diverse talent for sustainable digital careers through free-to-access skills training programmes. Our innovative courses include live campaigns and projects with real businesses, producing motivated, industry-ready candidates from diverse backgrounds. Our success stories range from complete beginners who are now digital marketing managers to career changers leading successful campaigns.
Our focus is on supporting young people to realise their career potential whilst helping businesses de-risk hiring entry-level talent and supporting the wider digital & tech industries to become more diverse. We are commissioned by the Department for Education (DfE), Greater London Authority (GLA) and Prince's Trust to deliver our programmes, and we're honoured to have worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. Our commitment to excellence has been recognised through several recent awards for our support of diverse talent, growth and innovation.
Each cohort brings new energy and inspiration to WYK, and many graduates return as mentors, trainers, and even board members, creating a powerful cycle of support and opportunity. This vibrant community would not be possible without the tireless support of our amazing trainers, volunteers, core team, and our board which includes alumni from our programmes.
Finally, we are truly grateful to the young people we work with (WYKers) who never cease to inspire us with their commitment and dedication. They are at the heart of everything we do and continue to drive our mission forward.
