WYK Leading the Way with Wave 5 Skills Bootcamps in London

Wave 5 Launch Event at City Hall - September 12th 2024

WYK Digital Awarded Almost £250k in Funding to Deliver Skills Bootcamps for GLA

WYK Digital is excited to announce that we have been awarded almost £250,000 in funding to continue delivering Skills Bootcamps across London. This funding, part of the Greater London Authority’s (GLA) Wave 5 initiative, was awarded due to our strong employment outcomes in Wave 4, making us a recipient of a prestigious Direct Award.

Our efforts were also highlighted when we were invited to an exclusive event at City Hall, hosted by the Deputy Mayor for Business Growth, Howard Dawber, on September 12th. During the event, Tom from the WYK team spoke alongside our employment partner, Louisa Stephens from Group M, and WYK alumnus, Daniel, sharing insights about our impactful programmes and future plans.

Tom Humphreys, WYK Co-founder and Daniel a former WYK trainee who now works at Wavemaker.

Skills Bootcamps for Londoners

Skills Bootcamps are designed to help Londoners aged 19+ enter employment, upskill, or change their career paths. These programs are accessible to a wide range of adults, whether they are full-time or part-time employed, self-employed, unemployed, or returning to work after a break.

The bootcamps provide learners with in-demand sector-specific training in areas such as Performance Marketing, SEO, and Analytics. As a unique benefit, learners are guaranteed a job interview upon completing the course. In addition to technical training, participants receive valuable guidance on navigating professional working environments to ensure they are fully prepared for new roles.

Louisa Stephens from GroupM joined us to talk about how our partnership opens opportunities for young people in London.

New LEAP Programme for Employment Partners

In addition to delivering the Skills Bootcamps, WYK Digital has been awarded funding to support our Employment Partners through our new LEAP programme. LEAP aims to uplift early career talent from under-represented backgrounds by providing on-the-job training. This initiative is a significant step toward fostering inclusivity and ensuring that everyone has access to career growth opportunities.

We are proud of the impact we are making and look forward to helping even more Londoners thrive in their careers through these innovative programs.
